Wash Your Harvest

The whole point of growing food is to have food readily available at your fingertips. However, don't let the convenience prevent you from taking all the precautionary steps before consuming your harvest.

After harvesting, please do the following:

  • shake off dirt

  • rinse in cold water

  • inspect for dirt, bugs, and bug eggs

  • rinse in cold water again

  • dry and store

If you need more convincing, watch this brief video of the blackberries I harvested and the hitchhikers on each berry.
