Our vertical gardening has finally produced fruit. Two days ago, we were able to harvest one cantaloupe and one honey dew melon. My boys are still learning about filming our garden adventures. Gardener Jerry was behind the video camera and Gardener James joined me in front of the camera. We found out the hard way how big our honey dew melon grew.
In the future, I will need to monitor the size more closely. I had already moved the cantaloupe to the outside of the cage and then covered it with two nets. I did not do this for the honey dew melon in time. At least my husband got a good laugh watching the video below. Shame on him. If he were outside, his height would have been beneficial for moving the honeydew melon up to the top of the cage to get it out.
Check out us harvesting the melons!
