I don't know if it was due to the polar vortex, but this has been a mild summer for Indiana. Typically all my old fashioned daylily blooms are gone by now. This year, I made an effort to care for them better. I thinned my lilies (boy do they spread), I put mulch around them, put a nice brick border around them and tried to water them on those few really hot days. They surround my deck and my sunroom and I just love having the opportunity to look at them for longer this year.
