Returning plants from the previous year: strawberries, blueberries, black cherry tomatoes, kale (curly), oregano, basil, blueberries, mint, thyme (winter), sage, lavender, radishes, and chives

Returning plants from over a year ago: rosemary, French tarragon, lavender, garlic, lunch box peppers, and peas

Plants grown for the first time: blackberries, magic carpet thyme, garlic, Juliet tomatoes, ruby red lettuce, yellow zucchini squash, cucumbers, and cantaloupe

Dropped plants from the previous year: banana peppers, bell peppers, Brussels sprouts, onions, corn, okra, marjoram, red rubin basil, lettuce leaf basil, regular size pumpkins, carrots, Swiss chard, and green zucchini squash

Garden 2018

This was our 9th year as urban gardeners.

Successes

Gardener Shicole was featured in The Phoenix Soul.

Our herbs did exceptionally well; we had to give a lot away.

We had a mild fall which allowed us to harvest from our garden for Thanksgiving dinner.

We learned how to make chive blossom vinegar.

We made ketchup for the first time using tomatoes from our garden
From Our Boys

Jerry - I like our garden a lot. I like that we grow food that is good to eat. My favorite thing to eat from the garden is mint.

James - I like the plants we grow. We save money because we grow our food. My favorite things to eat from our garden are the greens and the strawberries.
